Business interest in solar climbs – Climate Spectator

Business interest in solar power is on the rise, according to figures provided to The Australian.

According to the paper, solar power systems are being installed at triple the rate of last year, encouraged by falling panel prices and rising electricity prices.

AGL Energy data shows the number of Australian commercial solar installations, or those of at least 10 kilowatt capacity, has climbed to 1460 in the first four months of the year, up from 550 during the same period last year, The Australian said.

The commercial sector has long lagged the residential in Australia, with the extent of residential dominance in the market unusual compared to most other countries.
