There is a much anticipated addition to the rooftops of CSIRO’s food innovation centre in Werribee, Victoria; and no, it isn’t Santa. Spanning 3 buildings and comprising no less than 1000 solar panels, Suntrix has just completed one of its largest rooftop solar installation to date.
And whilst most places are turning on their Christmas lights at this time of year, CSIRO will be flicking the switch on their solar PV system at a special launch ceremony next Tuesday, 19th December.
Managing Director, Jenny Paradiso is looking forward to attending the event. “It marks the end of a great year for Suntrix in Victoria – our biggest to date”.
The 300 kW solar system will produce around 440,000 kWh of electricity annually, saving CSIRO over $60,000 per year on its electricity bills. So whilst Santa might come just once a year, CSIRO will be able to enjoy the benefits of solar all year round.
