Solar panels are also known as photovoltaic (PV) modules. These modules are made from solar cells that convert light energy into electricity by the photovoltaic effect. Suntrix only use AS/NZS 5033-compliant photovoltaic (PV) modules that have been approved by the Clean Energy Council as meeting Australian standards.
We currently offer a choice of brands – JA Solar and Trina Solar. Both are classified as Tier 1 solar panel manufacturers; meaning they manufacture their panels ‘from scratch’, invest heavily in R&D, utilize advanced robotic processes and have at least 5 years experience in the industry.

Mono-crystalline solar panels
Mono-crystalline solar panels are made from purified silicon, formed into a crystal ingot and cut into round wafers, giving them a distinctive white diamond look. Mono-crystalline panels are the most efficient of all technologies, requiring much less roof space than other panels.
They don’t contain heavy metals and have a proven track record within the industry, with an estimated useful life of 35-40 years.
The efficiency of mono-crystalline solar panels can be affected by low-light, heat and shade. Suntrix panels have better low-light performance than the industry standard and overheating is minimised by ensuring adequate airflow beneath the panels.
Poly-crystalline solar panels
Poly-crystalline solar panels are a close cousin to mono-crystalline differing only in the way they are manufactured, in a cast rather than individual crystal ingots.
These panels are blue in colour and share all the same technical aspects as mono-crystalline modules such as heat tolerance and shading.
Poly-crystalline solar panels have a slightly lower efficiency per watt than the mono-crystalline modules but they have a slightly better yield.
