FAQ

Will solar pay for itself?

Yes, a solar system is a great investment and will pay for itself many times over during its lifetime. Whether it’s a smaller 1.5kW system or a 100MW system we can show you the options available and how a solar system will pay for itself. The rate of return on investment (ROI) is around 17-20% for most of our customers.

What size system should I buy?

There are many factors to consider when deciding on the size system that will work for your home or business. Some of the variables that our sales consultants will discuss with you are:

  1. Available space for solar on your existing roof space
  2. Potential Shading issues from other buildings and structures
  3. The size of your current electricity bills and percentage you would like to offset with solar.
  4. How much you would like to spend or invest in solar

What Warranties are provided with a Suntrix system?

Specific details on warranty terms and conditions will vary with different brands and components used but as a guide most systems will have 25 year performance warranty on their panels, 90% performance guaranteed for the first 12 years. Most invertors come with a 5 year warranty, but like most appliances there are options to extend. You can rest assured that a Suntrix system will come with market leading warranties, your sales consultant will talk you through the terms and conditions before you sign your purchase order.

Who installs the system?

We don’t just trust the installation of our systems to anyone, we have a carefully selected crew of Clean Energy Council (CEC) accredited installers on staff in Adelaide who work solely on the installations and maintenance of our solar energy systems. If we cannot send our boys to your home or business we have carefully selected accredited installers in each state who we know will carry out your install or maintenance to our high expectations.

Who notifies my power company?

Each state has different requirements on who needs to be aware you are installing solar. We take care of all of this for you, from arranging your new import/export meter and advising the power networks in your state or territory – our customer care team will be in touch with you at every step to ensure the transition goes as smoothly as possible.

How do I get a system installed?

It’s an easy process when you select Suntrix. After you call us or send an enquiry we will arrange for one of our sales consultants to visit with you at your home or business. This is an important step to get an idea of your property and any lifestyle or structural issues that may affect the size or positioning of a system on your roof.  The next step is where our designers will create a customised solution for your home, taking into consideration the unique way you use power. Once you have signed the final order we take care of the rest, alerting your electricity supplier and other bodies as required and scheduling our installation team, who will be on site to ensure that your solar system is working to save you money in no time.

Can I add to my system later?

Our systems are customised, that means we take into consideration the amount of power you may need in the future and your system will be designed with this in mind. However if you do need to upgrade your system for any reason we can assist you with this.

What are STC’s and how do they work?

Small-scale Technology Certificates (STC’s) are tradable commodity attached to eligible installations of renewable energy systems such as solar panels, solar hot water and heat pumps. When you install an eligible system you can claim a set number of STC’s under the Federal Governments Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES). We purchase your assigned STC’s which in turn reduces the cost of purchase and installation of your system. For more information visit http://ret.cleanenergyregulator.gov.au/Certificates/stcs
