Think You Missed The Solar Boat? Think Again.

There has been a lot of media hype over the last few months about changes to the SA solar feed-in tariff, however with the current Government incentives and rising energy costs solar is still a worthwhile, sustainable investment.

On 1st October 2011, the State Government reduced the solar feed-in tariff from 44 cents kWh to 16c kWh. This means any excess electricity generated by your solar system is sold back to your energy retailer for a minimum 16c per kWh.

Most retailers are supplying a further 7 to 8 cents per kWh on top of the state requirement, which means you get paid about the same amount for power fed into the grid as you pay your electricity retailer for power used.

The Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) has predicated energy costs to rise by as much as 22% by 2014.This means a quarterly bill of $480 will increase to $585.60 in the next two years.

Now is the time to take action, it’s not as expensive as you may think.

The Federal Government incentives are due to be reduced by 33% on all systems installed after 30th June 2012. This can lead to an increased cost of $992 for a solar system based on today’s small technology certificate (STCs) rates.

SunTrix can offer you a 5kW system starting at $7,799 which could cover a quarterly bill of up to $480, giving you peace of mind and free electricity in the long term. Even a small 1.5kW system can help reduce your power bill.

With a generous feed-in tariff still being offered and electricity prices continuing to increase, a solar system that meets your current and future needs will save you money and protect you from rising costs.

Ensure you have your system booked for installation before the 30th June to take advantage of the Government incentives before they are reduced. Bookings are filling quickly so call now.
